Founder & CEO
Kareem Hines, originally from Harlem, New York, has consistently demonstrated a profound passion for youth development throughout his life. His journey began when he relocated at the age of 19 to our community, where he initially worked as a swim instructor and Youth Director for the YMCA.

New Breed of Youth, also known as New B.O.Y., is a 501(c)(3) youth mentoring nonprofit based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Founded in 2006 by Kareem Hines, it has served more than 4,000 youth through mentoring, sports, martial arts, leadership, and entrepreneurship programs, guided by the principle of "Connection Before Correction."
Who does New B.O.Y. serve?
New B.O.Y. serves young men and youth ages 6 to 18 in Indianapolis who are ready to grow, along with their families. This includes system-involved youth who have encountered juvenile probation or the Department of Child Services, as well as youth from the wider community.
What programs does New Breed of Youth offer?
New B.O.Y. offers 6 programs: Youth Mentoring Program, Sports Programs, New B.O.Y. Leaders Circle, Young Entrepreneurs Program, Youth & Family Martial Arts, Community Events. Each program pairs structured activities with mentorship to build character, discipline, and leadership.
What does "Connection Before Correction" mean?
It is New B.O.Y.'s core philosophy: mentors build genuine, trusting relationships with young people first, because that connection is what makes guidance, accountability, and lasting change possible.
